2026 Lenten Soup Lunch – Tomorrow! The Gesu Student Council will host our annual Lenten Soup Lunch TOMORROW March 26. Students will be served chicken noodle soup, a roll, and water as a simple meal of sacrifice to support a charitable cause. No other lunch items will be available. Students who opt to bring their own lunch are asked to practice sacrifice as well by limiting themselves to basic food items for their lunch. We ask that each student consider a donation of the amount they normally spend on their lunch each day. Any additional donation will be gratefully accepted as well.
Students may dress down tomorrow for an additional $1 donation.
Please sign up and submit payment at: gesu.com/soup
Thank you for supporting this Lenten tradition. |

Gesu School Annual Giving
We invite you to support our Annual Giving Fund, which bridges the approximately $1,700 gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student. This fund ensures our students and teachers have the resources to thrive, carrying our mission into the next 100 years.
A Special Focus on Safety and Security
A key priority this year is supporting new security initiatives. In addition to offsetting general operational expenses, your donation will fund enhancements such as:
-
The cost of a full-time security officer and eventually a School Resource Officer.
-
The Centegix Emergency Button Alert System.
-
Armor Safety Films installed on all first-floor windows.
These initiatives are essential steps in maintaining a secure, modern learning environment. Nothing is more important than making Gesu a safe place to learn, work, and pray.
Click here to make a one-time or recurring gift. You may also send a check to the parish office. Thank you for your generosity! |

On Tuesday March 24th, Gesu hosted a naturalization ceremony for new U.S. citizens. Thanks to parishioner, Len Calabrese, Gesu was able to arrange to have the Honorable Judge J. Phillip Calabrese preside over the ceremony in McAuley Hall. Twenty-six new citizens were sworn in, giving The Oath of Allegiance and formally pledging loyalty to the United States and promising to support the Constitution.
They were from 17 different countries: Albania, Brazil,
Canada, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominican Republic, Germany, India, Jamaica, Liberia, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey and Vietnam!
Their friends and families joined them in this celebration. A representative from Senator Jon Husted's office gave each new citizen a welcome letter. Gesu’s 8th grade class and faculty attended to witness our American government in action and afterwards Judge Calabrese participated in a Q&A with them at Gesu School. In addition, the Gesu Scouts Color Guard presented the flag and 8th grade Gesu Choir members led the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Members from OCA's Greater Cleveland Chapter were there to register our new citizens to vote after the ceremony and staff from Global Cleveland handed out welcome packets.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made this special event possible, especially the Gesu volunteers who set up breakfast for our new citizens. Previously naturalized citizens commented on how welcoming and celebratory our ceremony was and they wish theirs had been like ours. Gesu truly welcomed the stranger....with a beautiful, uplifting event.
