Dear Gesu Families,
The warm weather sure hit us this week! To assist students with warmer temperatures, we begin and end each year with summer uniform options. These options extend into dress-down days as well. But we are asking for your assistance! Below, you will see the link to the dress code. Please make sure your child’s attire follows the dress code. We have a variety of used uniforms for sale, should it become apparent that your child has had a growth spurt since September.
Over the course of the last two weeks, students have received verbal or written warnings regarding dress code infractions. A student out of dress code will need to call a parent to bring up a change of clothing. Dress code expectations include dress-down days and field day.

School Classroom Supply Kits
This year, Gesu is partnering with a new company called Impacks to provide our school with back to school classroom supply kits. You can order a school supply kit for a limited time with the majority of supplies your student will need for the upcoming school year. Unlike in years past, these kits are customizable allowing items to be deleted or added to each child's kit.

Each kit includes everything required, with the exception of a few things. Please be sure to read any parent notes or items requested but not included in the kit at the bottom of the list. Prices are comparable to Target, and cheaper than Amazon.

Consider adding a donation at checkout. Impacks will match the first $5, and all funds will go to supporting Gesu!

The supplies will be shipped directly to Gesu Catholic School and delivered to your child's homeroom in time for Student Orientation on Tuesday, August 25.

Altar Server Sign Up
There will be two mandatory training sessions for new servers. These sessions will take place on the following dates: May 27 and June 3. Both will take place from 2:45 PM-3:45 PM in the main church. Please email Mr. Berlin ( jberlin@gesu.com) with any questions. |

Lost and Found As we draw closer to summer break, please remind your children to check the lost and found for misplaced items. Any items that remain at the end of this school year will be donated. |

News From the School Nurse
Medication Pickup
If your child has medication in the clinic, please make arrangements with the school nurse to pick the items up before June 4. The school nurse can be reached at x119 or via email at: ddelmoro@gesu.com. Medication cannot be stored in the school’s clinic during the summer break. All medication that is not picked up by June 4, will be considered unclaimed and will be disposed of according to the State of Ohio and local drug task force guidelines.
Attention Parents of Incoming 7th grade students:
All students entering 7th grade are required to have the Tdap booster vaccine and one dose of the Meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) prior to entry. Both of these vaccinations must be administered on or after the 10th birthday. Students who do not provide written documentation of these immunizations or an Ohio exemption form (see school website for form) within 14 days from the start of the school year are subject to exclusion from school until this documentation is provided (ORC 3313.671). Please provide a copy of the vaccine record from your child’s medical provider to the school nurse at: ddelmoro@gesu.com.

Advertising/Sponsorship Opportunity
Gesu student agendas/Wednesday folders are used daily/weekly for communication between the classroom and home. Sponsorship is needed so that these teaching tools can be offered at no cost to our students. Hike for Hunger
Circles and rings are powerful symbols of love and giving! Thank you to all of YOU for over the $8000.00 that was donated to this year’s Hike for Hunger. Love and support through these generous donations will help children, families and senior citizens of NE Ohio have food. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Gesu Mission, Gesu Honduras Mission, and our own Gesu Outreach will all benefit from your donations.

The Gesu Century Book is now available!
Our commemorative 100th anniversary book, Celebrating a Century - Church of the Gesu's 100th Anniversary, is now available for purchase. This beautiful keepsake is filled with photos, history, and moments that capture the life and spirit of Gesu over the past 100 years.
Books are $50 and may be purchased in the Parish Office with cash or check (made payable to Gesu, with "Century Book" in the memo line). All proceeds from the sale of these books will support the Gesu Century Capital Campaign. An order form will also be sent home with students in their Wednesday folders. Be sure to pick up your copy and celebrate this milestone year!
